There’s no doubt countless celebrities have used their fame to get out of trouble, whether it’s getting out of a speeding ticket, an altercation on the street, or something more serious. But there’s a handful who’ve had to face the consequences of their actions.

The Desperate Housewives spent time in jail following her role in the college admissions scandal. For those who don’t remember, she paid someone to proctor and correct her daughter’s standardized test.
Before he became Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr. spent almost a year in prison from 1999 to 2000 after he violated parole for charges related to drugs.
Along with Huffman, Lori Loughlin spent two months in jail after she was found guilty following her role in the college admissions scandal. She had spent $500,000 to get her two daughters into the University of Southern California, claiming they were recruits on the crew team.
Bill Cosby was found guilty of three counts of aggravated indecent assault. He has been sentenced to 3-10 years in prison. Although he tried to get released early due to the ongoing pandemic, the judge was not sympathetic.
When he was 16 years old, Mark Wahlberg attacked two Vietnamese men. He was arrested for assault and it Wahlberg had committed a hate crime. After pleading guilty, Wahlberg was sentenced to two years in prison. However, he only served 45 days of his sentence.
Abuse like those that the victims of Jeffrey Epstein suffered leaves scars that never go away. These are three of the most famous celebrities whose tragic suicides were the result of scars they could not heal.
Marilyn Monroe was in the foster care system for most of her childhood. She suffered sexual abuse multiple times throughout her life.
Monroe was open about her experiences with abuse. And in 1962, at 36 years old, Marilyn Monroe was found dead by drug overdose. There are rumors foul play was involved, but considering Monroe’s experiences with severe abuse, her drug addiction is not surprising.
According to ACEs Connection, a 1998 study shows that Kurt Cobain was likely abused sexually as a child. “There were alleged sex offenders on both sides of Kurt’s family tree,” they write. “His great-uncle on his father’s side killed himself before he was to be arraigned for raping a child, and a cousin of Kurt’s disclosed as an adult that he was raped by a maternal great-uncle of Kurt’s.”
Kurt Cobain committed suicide in 1994 at the age of 27.
